FISHING DERBY

Hooked on Fishing park is announcing the first Kids Fishing Derby of the season.

Where:  Hooked on Fishing Park, 1807 N. Main St., East Peoria (next to Dixons Seafood Shoppe)

When:  Saturday, June 7, 2014  

Registration 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

 Fishing from 9:30 to 11:00

 Prizes awarded at 11:30

Open to kids ages 5 to 15.

Poles and bait available, or bring your own.

All kids must be accompanied by an adult.

As we plan for our 2014 season we are always looking for ways to get funding so we can keep the park operating and keep the grounds maintained and keep the ponds well stocked.

Our donors play a BIG part in funding our budget. We appreciate all donations both large and small.

Is It Still Hooked on Fishing??

Our ponds seem to have attracted a large number of geese. Perhaps over the winter we should change our name to "Hooked on Geese".

Above are pictured some of the volunteers who have helped this year.

The Hooked on Fishing Park volunteers make everything happen.  Without our volunteers there would be no Hooked on Fishing.  Throughout the year they havebeen there when we needed them. Whether it was help with the groups, fishing derbies, fundraising, park maintenance, or emergency sandbagging, the volunteers have done it all. 

Each one who has volunteered is due a BIG "thank you".

PARK SET TO REOPEN

ATTENTION...........................SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
 ---Due to recent heavy rains and a rising river, the park is again flooded. Fishing stations and some interior park roads are presently covered with about a foot of water.   For those reasons, we have to temporarily close the park once again.  We expect that it may take up to two weeks for the water to go back down.
All events through June 14 are canceled. 

            FISHING DERBY SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 15 IS POSTPONED TO JULY 6TH.
